This week on Salt Lake Dirt, we have the pleasure of welcoming Tim Kirk, author of the new novel, All His Damned Mother’s Sons. In this episode, Kyler and Tim delve into the fascinating world of alternate history, exploring a timeline where Elvis Presley meets an untimely death during his military service in Germany. This pivotal moment sends shockwaves through the lives of four characters, particularly Billy Clover, who finds himself thrust into the limelight as the new Prince of Rock and Roll.
Great book, great chat! Thanks for listening.

Hi Gang!
I finally made my way to Borrego Springs, one of the two towns where Charles Starrett lived with his wife during the last portion of their lives. Summer was for Laguna Heights, right near the ocean. Borrego Spring, a few hours drive from LH, was their winter retreat, living in a condo in the desert, surrounded all around by mountains. The best of California – ocean and desert/mountains.
After moving from Hollywood to their joint residences, the Starretts enjoyed Borrengo Spring so much that, when Charles was losing his final bout with cancer, he chose to spend his final days there in 1986. I can understand why. It’s a very friendly community, with a nice library, restaurants, and, since 2013, a film festival.
After some looking, I found Durango’s last stand!

Farewell, Durango Kid!
