From your postings, we have determined that Briar knows more about LA infrastructure, history and outright coolness at one year old than all but Chandler, Towne, Ellroy, Moseley, Steve Erickson and that “City of Quartz” dude.

Riding a train through other people’s back yards

Briar and I took the Gold Line from Union Station to Pasadena.  Unlike the other subways I’ve ridden, which either go underground, through mainly deserted commercial districts, or along the median of the freeway, this train charges through dense residential areas.   You look out the window and see folks checking their mailboxes, locking their front doors, working in their lawns, etc.

It’s a strange ride.  Unless you’re asleep.
