The Finks’ Final Western

In Cowboys, Films! on February 9, 2012 at 12:35 am

Harry and Rita Fink wrote a classic of the action genre and it’s neither of the John Wayne films they penned.   They wrote BIG JAKE in 1971.  This still is from CAHILL, US MARSHALL, 1973.

In between, they wrote DIRTY HARRY.  I haven’t read the script but, damn, what ends up on screen is a tight story with unforgettable situations and memorable (duh!) dialogue.

This team retired after CAHILL with bragging rights for having been a heavy influence on the tone and morality of action flicks for the next couple of decades, and much “characters credited by” money from the DIRTY HARRY franchise.

For those who rocked many genres, we salute you!
